It is founded by hard-working and ambitious team of diversified & well-experienced professionals in the fields of Computer Science, Business and Social science .Infonet College is a center of higher learning initiated by highly experienced professional to meet the need for high level professional who can competently plan, organize, operate, maintain and manage modern ICT and ICT based services, which has become the very fabric and backbone of the new business landscape and development process of the today's world.

At the early beginning of its inception emerging as a center for Information and Communication Technology, Infonet College has been out-reaching the country and has been able to introduce skilled manpower to the computer based area of careers. Infonet College has been born out of the educational vision of Infonet Computer Engineering Center .

In this age of information and knowledge Infonet College believes that development in business, communication, industry, research, or in any sector can only be achieved with an active involvement of well-educated and qualified professionals who can be directly involved in the national effort for poverty reduction and socio-economics development.

Infonet College , which has been born out of the 1999 founded educational vision of the Infonet Computer Center , is a Private Limited Company incorporated in Ethiopia with Information and Communication Technology knowledge based objectives and commitment. Infonet College offers both long and short term trainings and consultancy services on various fields. So far, it has trained over 20,000 trainees from government, non-government and the private organizations. Out of them 10,000 trainees were in over 14 Regional training institutions. Our trainees are the living testimonies in various organizations.

Mission of Infonet College

Based on the following believes that higher education as an infrastructure to the development of human capital that business and government in particular, and the country in general need, the Infonet college has the following convictions:

  • There must be collaborative partnership between and among institutions of Higher learning, the business community, and the government community.
  • Higher education must provide the research, studies and report that business and government need.
  • Higher education has to advance and promote Human capital development needs of the business community and build the capacity of the society.
  • Universities and colleges are significantly important for trade and investment because they provide global context and understanding for socio economic development and the welfare of mankind.
  • Universities and Colleges have to come up with strategies that contribute to the development of the national interest. Hence, having clearly articulated National vision, mission, and strategic plan. Therefore, as an institution of Higher Education, Infonet College believes that institutions of Higher learning must be centers of community activities offering basic and professional training, with all good standard, complete lab, quality and fulltime instructor with real world experience.

As well as to establish a profound IT based Community for the development of Agriculture, Health, Infrastructure, Education and commerce.

General Methodology of the Training

The candidate is required to understand the main concept of Information Communication Technology. It is also required to understand the make-up of a personal computer in term of hardware and software and to understand the basic concept of Information and Communication Technology. The candidate shall also understand how information networks are used within computing and be aware of the uses of computer based software applications in everyday life. The candidate shall appreciate health and safety issues as well as main environmental factors involved in using computers. The candidate shall be aware of some of the important security and legal issues associated with computers.

ICT is the discipline that seeks to build a foundation for such topics as information processing, computer design, computer programming, computer networks, algorithmic solutions of problems and the algorithm problem itself. It provides the underpinning for today's computer applications as well as the foundations for tomorrow's applications. This breadth means that we cannot become knowledgeable in computer by studying only a few topics as isolated subject or by merely learning how to use the computing tools of today. Rather to understand the science of computing, we must grasp the scope and dynamics of a wide range of topics.

Therefore, this training is designed to provide such a background; it presents an integrated training to information and Communication Technology /ICT/. In this training we will consider also topics associated with ICT.

The objective of each program, trainees upon completion; courses to be offered in each program, their content and structure are all designed to meet the knowledge and skills needed in the development and management of ICT training sector and other trainings area of our college.

The training course design accommodates flexible approach to trainees participation and practice whilst keeping the trainees abreast of the latest trends in information and communications science and technology. Thus, the program objective is enhanced through the process of course delivery that is supported by intensive and extensive handout, text book and manual provisions, assignments , demonstrations, computer lab exercises, practices, counselor and tutorial services and the like.
