Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to attend Infonet?

We will notify it soon as we are revising our fee related tasks.

What factors are considered when you evaluate a student's application?

We try to balance the following factors when evaluating candidates for admission:

1. The most important criterion for admissions is your transcript. We look not only at your grades, but also your course selection. We consider the quality of your course load and prefer to see that you have challenged yourself with the strongest program that you can handle. We do look at grades and courses in your senior year, so give thought to your coursework and schedule for your final year.

2. Standardized test scores are considered in the admissions process. INFONET admits students with a wide range of test scores for the Degree program, and there is no cut-off or minimum score required.

3. We require one college or guidance counselor recommendation, as well as two teacher recommendations. Ideally, one will be from an English or a Mathematics teacher and another will be from a teacher of another discipline. The requirement for TVET program is according to the MOE admission criteria.

4. Your extra curricular activities are also important, but remember that it is the quality, not the quantity, of your involvement that is considered.

6. While we do not require an interview it is strongly encouraged.

How are admission decisions made?

There is no single determining factor in whether an applicant is admitted or not. The admissions committee rate a candidate's potential for success at Infonet College valuation and consideration of ALL submitted application materials. Remember, although many students who apply to Infonet handling the College's academic rigor, they may not necessarily be offered admission due to the limited number of available places in the freshman class.

What is the average G.P.A. of admitted students?

It is important to realize that not all secondary schools have the same grading scale or methodology. The average admitted student has a high school G.P.A. of a c+ or better.

How important is standardized testing?

We require standardized testing for the admissions process. We believe, however, that performance in school is a much more accurate measure of potential for academic success in college than standardized test results.
Which standardized tests are required for admission?

Applicants are required to take either the NOE, or ESLCE It is your responsibility to have the official test scores sent to Infonet.

What are the average NOE and ESLCE scores?

For 10+1: 1.2 for the females and 1.4 for the males. For 10+2: 1.6 for female and 1.8. For 10+3 2.0 and above for all.

How important is the interview? Is it required?

Interviews are not required, however they are strongly encouraged. The interview is an opportunity for us to learn more about a prospective student and for the student to learn more about Infonet

Any advice on what I can do in the admissions process to maximize my chances of being admitted to Infonet?

Our advice is to continue to work very hard throughout your education year and to excel in academic as well as extracurricular activities. Highlight any special awards or recognition that might distinguish you as a candidate for admission; remember that your college application is not a time to be modest. Enlist the support of any individuals who might be able to document any particular skills or talents that you might possess.
